The CT Foundation

Preserving Our Future

Following the footsteps of the National Sons of Italy Foundation (SIF), the CT Foundation has been formed and initially funded to be the philanthropic arm of the CT Grand Lodge. The CT Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization and donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

The National SIF was founded in 1959 with the purpose of preserving Italian American culture, encouraging education excellence among Italian Americans and improving lives in other areas. To date, the SIF has given more than $164 million to these efforts.

Similarly, the CT Foundation is now positioned to contribute and support your efforts in your local community – right here in CT. As you know, we have several lodges throughout the State supporting the overall mission and purpose of the Sons & Daughters of Italy in America. As our first order of business, we are committed to offering one scholarship in each of the communities where we have lodges. This is a wonderful opportunity to continue to share our message and commitment to the Italian-American community and support our young adults in their studies as they enter their universities, colleges and trade schools.

OSDIA CT Philanthropy

Beyond the annual scholarship program, it is our expectation and goal for the CT Foundation to evolve into a grant-making vehicle to support educational, cultural programs and supporting other charitable causes through philanthropic efforts. As we embark on this journey, it is you, our members and friends of the Italian-American community, that make these opportunities possible by supporting our fundraising events and through the generous act of gift-giving.

We are excited to support the causes that are near and dear to many of our members. If you have a charitable cause that you are passionate about please contact us and let us know.

Beyond the annual scholarship program, it is our expectation and goal for the CT Foundation to evolve into a grant-making vehicle to support educational and cultural programs in addition to supporting other charitable causes, especially those within the State of CT.

As we embark on this journey, it is you, our members and friends of the Italian-American community, that make these opportunities possible by supporting our fundraising events and through the generous act of gift-giving. Private support of the Sons & Daughters of Italy CT Grand Lodge Foundation will be vital to our success. The Board of Trustees will be meeting regularly to create the appropriate opportunities for both gift-giving and fund-raising events.

We hope you are as excited as we are as we begin this journey in preserving, promoting and supporting all things Italian here in CT.
