Leadership Structure of the Grand Lodge

The Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America (OSDIA) Grand Lodge operates under a structured leadership system with elected officers serving two-year terms. All officers are elected at the biennial state convention by delegates representing local lodges throughout the jurisdiction.

 

Executive Officers

State President (State Venerable)

  • Chief executive officer of the Grand Lodge
  • Presides over all official meetings and functions
  • Appoints committee chairs and members
  • Serves as primary representative to the Supreme Lodge
  • Oversees implementation of programs and initiatives

State Vice President

  • Assists the State President in all duties
  • Assumes presidential responsibilities when required
  • Coordinates special projects as assigned
  • Oversees lodge development initiatives

State Orator

  • Serves as parliamentarian for all official meetings
  • Provides interpretation of bylaws and regulations
  • Ensures compliance with organizational procedures
  • Advises on legal matters pertaining to lodge operations

State Recording Secretary

  • Maintains official minutes of all meetings
  • Manages organizational correspondence
  • Preserves Grand Lodge records and documents
  • Distributes official communications

State Financial Secretary

  • Manages membership records and dues collection
  • Maintains financial accounts and records
  • Processes new member applications
  • Prepares regular financial reports

State Treasurer

  • Oversees all Grand Lodge financial operations
  • Manages banking relationships and investments
  • Prepares annual budgets
  • Issues authorized payments and reimbursements

Board of Trustees

  • Provides oversight of Grand Lodge operations
  • Reviews financial reports and audits
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies
  • Serves staggered two-year terms

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates for executive positions must be members in good standing for a minimum of three years and demonstrate prior leadership experience at the local lodge level. All officers are expected to uphold the principles and values of OSDIA while serving their terms.
